Bomb Threat at Wilberforce School

On 22 February at 12:35 PM a bomb threat was 'called in' to Wilberforce Elementary School. WAPVA responded, redirecting traffic and securing the area while the children and teachers were evacuated to the Fire Hall and Lloyd Watson Center. Meanwhile Volunteer Firemen laid hoses in case of a detonation. Two OPP Canine Units conducted a thorough search of the premises. No explosives were found and school resumed the next day.

An OPP Canine Unit prepares to conduct its search. Notice the hoses have already been laid, in case of detonation.

Firefighters wait for the OPP Canine Units to respond, while WAPVA keeps the area clear and directs traffic.
